Lawyer withdraws from competition for the Judicial Disciplinary Board

The Judicial Vetting Commission informs that lawyer Andrei Rezuș, nominated by the Ministry of Justice as a candidate for the position of member of the Judicial Disciplinary Board under the Superior Council of Magistracy, has withdrawn from the competition.

Pursuant to Law No. 26/2022 on certain measures related to the selection of candidates for membership in the self-governing bodies of judges and prosecutors, the withdrawal of a candidate during the external integrity assessment process is deemed equivalent to failing the evaluation.

Accordingly, by its decision adopted, the Commission determined that the candidate failed the evaluation as a result of his withdrawal from the competition and notified both the candidate and the Ministry of Justice, the authority responsible for organizing the competition.

Andrei Rezuș refused the publication of the decision.
