Marcel van de Wetering and Willem Brouwer to conclude their mandates with the Vetting Commission at year-end

The Judicial Vetting Commission announces that Marcel van de Wetering, Vice-Chair of the Commission, and Willem Brouwer, international member, will conclude their service with the Commission on 31 December 2026.

Letters formally notifying the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova of the conclusion of their service were sent today, in accordance with the applicable procedures.

Marcel van de Wetering will conclude his service upon completion of the period for which he had committed to serving on the Commission. Willem Brouwer will conclude his service in connection with his retirement from professional activity following a long-standing legal career.

The Commission expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr. van de Wetering and Mr. Brouwer for their professionalism, experience, and commitment throughout their service, and for their valuable contribution to the Commission’s work and the fulfillment of its institutional mandate.

The Commission’s work and the ongoing evaluation processes will continue in accordance with its legal mandate.
