Proposal to fail Judge Angela Vasilenco in the external evaluation

2026-10-15

The Judicial Vetting Commission has completed the external evaluation of Judge Angela Vasilenco of the Chișinău Court, who also serves on the specialized panels examining corruption-related cases.

Panel G of the Commission found that the judge does not meet the financial integrity criterion and, accordingly, issued a proposal that she fail the evaluation.

The relevant facts, findings, and reasons underlying this conclusion are set out in the evaluation report approved by the Panel. The report was submitted today to the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) for consideration. The SCM will decide whether to accept or reject the Commission’s proposal.

At this stage of the proceedings, evaluation reports are not public, in accordance with the Constitutional Court’s interpretation of the applicable legal framework. The information currently available to the public is limited to the outcome of the evaluation and may be consulted on the Commission’s website under the “Subjects of evaluation” section.

The evaluation report becomes public after the expiry of the appeal period or, where the evaluation is challenged, after a final judgment is issued by the Supreme Court of Justice.
