
The Judicial Vetting Commission has initiated the verification procedure regarding lawyer Andrei Rezuș, a candidate for the position of member of the Disciplinary Board of Judges. The candidate has submitted the initial documents requested by the Commission—the declaration of assets and personal interests for the past five years, as well as the ethics questionnaire.
The Ministry of Justice has submitted Andrei Rezuș’s candidacy to the Commission for evaluation, in his capacity as a representative of civil society within the Disciplinary Board of the Superior Council of Magistracy.
To determine whether Andrei Rezuș meets the legal criteria of financial and ethical integrity, the Commission will analyze the submitted documents and collect additional relevant information from public sources, private entities, and open sources. For clarifying any identified inconsistencies, the Commission may request additional data and information from the candidate at any stage of the procedure. The evaluation of lawyer Andrei Rezuș is conducted by the Commission in its full composition, in accordance with Law No. 26/2022.
Candidates for membership in the Superior Council of Magistracy and its related boards are subject to external evaluation based on the financial and ethical integrity criteria established by Law No. 26/2022. At the end of the procedure, the Commission adopts a decision confirming either the passing or the failure of the evaluation.
