The external evaluation of judges serving on specialized panels that examine corruption and corruption-related cases is entering the public hearing stage.
On Monday, 14 September, the Judicial Vetting Commission will hold the first hearings involving judges serving on these panels. The Commission will hear Elizaveta BUZU, a judge of the Chișinău District Court who is temporarily transferred to the Central Court of Appeal, and Alina GORCEAC, a judge of the Chișinău District Court. Both serve on specialized panels examining corruption cases.
On the same day, the Commission will also hear Vasile NOGAI, a judge and former president and acting president of the Drochia District Court, who is undergoing a re-evaluation procedure.
The detailed schedule, including the hearing times and the order of participants, is available in the annex.
For the September round of hearings, the Commission has scheduled a total of eight hearings. Six concern judges serving on specialized panels that examine corruption cases, while two relate to ongoing re-evaluation procedures involving two former presidents of district courts.
The schedule for the subsequent hearing dates will be announced as the evaluated subjects confirm their participation.
Those wishing to attend the hearings are asked to confirm their participation in advance by email at press@vettingmd.eu. Members of the public may attend the hearings as observers.
