Elena Croitor and Oxana Parfeni – hearings concluded with no integrity concerns

Today, the Judicial Vetting Commission held hearings with the candidates for the position of judge at the Supreme Court of Justice, Oxana Parfeni (Judge) and Elena Croitor (university professor), as part of the external evaluation process.

Both sessions were chaired by Andrei Bivol, President of the Commission, who provided a brief overview of the evaluation process for each candidate. The two candidates responded promptly and thoroughly to over 20 clarification questions raised during the different stages of the evaluation.

The analysis of relevant information did not raise any doubts regarding the integrity of either candidate. During the hearings, both confirmed the accuracy and veracity of the statements and information previously submitted, without the need for additional clarifications or corrections. The candidates also had the opportunity to deliver a closing statement.

In the absence of new information or additional circumstances, the Commission will adopt a separate evaluation report for each candidate, which will subsequently be forwarded to the Superior Council of Magistracy.
