Vetting procedure launched for a lawyer candidate to the Supreme Court

Today, the Judicial Vetting Commission notified lawyer Radu Jigău, as a candidate for the position of judge at the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), regarding the initiation of the external integrity evaluation (vetting) procedure.

Through this notification, the Commission requested the candidate to submit the Declaration of assets and personal interests, with updated information for the last 5 years, including related expenses, the Ethics Questionnaire and the Declaration regarding close persons who have worked or are currently working in the judiciary, prosecution, or public service in the past 5 years.

These documents must be completed and submitted to the Commission within the legally established deadline, no later than 10 days from the date of the request.

This notification marks the first stage of the evaluation, during which the Commission obtains primary information from the subject of the evaluation. Following the submission of the initial documents, the Commission will proceed to the stage of collecting additional information relevant for the evaluation.

The evaluation of the SCJ candidate, Radu Jigău, will be conducted in accordance with the integrity criteria set out in Law No. 65/2023 and will cover the period 2013–2024.
