Natalia Paustovscaia, a candidate representing civil society for the position of member of the Disciplinary Board of Judges within the Superior Council of Magistracy, has withdrawn from the competition.
According to Law no. 26/2022 on the selection of candidates for positions in the self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors, under which Natalia Paustovscaia was undergoing evaluation, her withdrawal is equivalent to failing the external evaluation.
Today, the Judicial Vetting Commission transmitted the decision confirming Natalia Paustovscaia’s withdrawal both to the candidate and to the Ministry of Justice, the institution responsible for organizing the competition in this case. The information has been published on the Commission’s website, and the decision will be made public only with the candidate’s consent or in the absence of an objection expressed within 48 hours.
Voluntary withdrawal results in the candidate’s inability to participate in the respective competition, without excluding the possibility of participating in other future competitions.
