The Judicial Vetting Commission has completed the re-evaluation ordered by the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) concerning Judge Vasile Nogai, former President of the Drochia Court.
Following the re-evaluation, Panel D of the Commission concluded that Judge Nogai does not meet the integrity criteria established by law and recommends to the SCM that judge fails the external evaluation.
The re-evaluation report has been submitted to the SCM for review and a decision, and has also been communicated to the judge concerned. The SCM will now examine the Commission’s findings and decide whether to accept or reject the report.
During the initial evaluation, the Panel found that Judge Nogai did not meet the integrity criteria and recommended that judge fail the evaluation. Subsequently, the SCM ordered his re-evaluation.
The initial evaluation and the re-evaluation reports will be published after the expiry of the deadline for challenging the SCM’s decision or, where applicable, following a final ruling by the Supreme Court of Justice.
