Reevaluation | Hearing of judge Angela Braga from the Central Court of Appeal

2025-11-11

Judge Angela Braga of the Central Court of Appeal was heard again by the Judicial Vetting Commission as part of a reevaluation procedure ordered by the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM).

SCM decided to send judge Braga’s case for reevaluation after rejecting the Commission’s initial report, given that the magistrate is involved in a pending criminal case. This situation was examined during the hearing, held partially in a closed session, based on the legal arguments presented by the judge and accepted by Panel C of the Commission.

Following the hearing, the Panel will adopt a report containing the relevant facts, reasoning, and a proposal on whether the subject passes or fails the reevaluation. The result of the reevaluation will be made public, and the report will be submitted to the Superior Council of Magistracy.
