Judge Silvia Cecan of the Central Court of Appeal was re-heard by the Judicial Vetting Commission as part of a reevaluation procedure ordered by the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM).
The repeated hearing, conducted before Panel B of the Commission, focused exclusively on the issues that the SCM had identified as problematic in its decision. The panel members (Scott Bales, Willem Brouwer, and Iurie Gațcan) asked questions regarding financial matters reviewed during the evaluation, including elements related to possible unexplained wealth for certain periods within the 12-year assessment interval (2016–2018 and 2020–2021).
Following the hearing, the Commission will adopt a report containing the relevant facts, reasoning, and a proposal on whether the subject passes or fails the reevaluation. The result of the reevaluation will be made public, and the report will be submitted to the Superior Council of Magistracy.
📜The external extraordinary evaluation is carried out based on the following principles:
a) independence of the Evaluation Commission;
b) fairness of the evaluation procedure;
c) publicity of the acts issued in the evaluation process;
d) exceptional nature of the evaluation.
